A pair of original oil-on-panel boat paintings signed by L.A. Noll. Both paintings depict fishing boats tied up to or near their docks. The paintings are simple, and executed with calm, muted tones suggesting that these paintings have aged a bit but painted by someone with a keen eye for detail. Both paintings also reveal different settings: one painting appears to depict a rural coastline, with simple buildings in the background, whereas the other painting appears to have a city skyline in the background. Both canvases measures 13 3/4" wide and 9 7/8" tall and are housed in large wooden frames bringing the total measurements to about 18" across, 14" tall, with a depth of 1 3/4". The backs of the frames have dried paper backing and hanging wire. The paintings are signed "L.A. Noll" and the condition of both is very good despite their age.
The paintings and limited edition prints sold at The Ideal Hand Laundry all have something in common--they are unique and original. We have a special affinity for self-taught artists and "Outsider Art." We see great potential in art that, with the simple changing of a frame, can be rejuvenated and incorporated into modern settings. If our acquired art has an old, scratched-up dark wood frame or no frame at all, but the art itself is in good condition, that's the way it's sold. What happens next is up to you, the new owner.
Before your purchase, if you'd like to have any of the art photographed in different settings and lighting, even a video taken of it, please let us know. We'd be happy to do that for you.
